An initial meeting was held in An Drochaid [The Bridge] in Claggan, Fort William
on 1st Sept 2004 to "test out the potential for some kind of ... group for people who are interested in tracing family roots";
After a further meeting at An Drochaid we have, courtesy of St Andrew's Episcopal
church, Fort William had our meetings in their church hall on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. Our objective
is, of course, to find our own premises where we can store our Family History records and, eventually, have micro-Fiche/Film
readers and computer(s).
A 'steering group' was appointed and 'directed operations' until Group Officers were appointed
at our 1st AGM in Sept 2005.
Membership of the Group is open to anyone having an interest in the families from the
area and, indeed, in the area itself.

in Inverness-shire - Arisaig, Moidart, Kentra Mission
and South Morar

in Argyll - Ardgour and Kinlochbeg/Kinlochleven
in Inverness-shire - Onich, (north) Ballachulish and
Kinlochmore
Kilmonivaig [099] - Glen Garry, Glen Spean

in Argyll - Locheilside and Achnacarry
in Inverness-shire - Maryburgh/Gordonsburgh/Fort
William, Glen Nevis and Glengarry
